SITUATION REACTION TEST(SRT)

IMPORTANT TIPS : 1. The time is limited, think, react and write fast. 2. Keep practicing in real life situations and develop the skill. 3. Practice using abbreviations and telegraphic key words to answer the situation to save time. 4. Avoid responding more elaborately, respond precisely in a manner that psychologist can easily comprehend. 5. Never show losing in any situation reaction, write logical responses in which you should win in every situation given. 6. Answer all questions in the given sequence and don’t jump from one question to the next one. 7. Always give priority to quality of the reaction than the quantity but try to do the maximum. 8. Be constant in your thoughts and reactions in answering similar situations asked differently. 9. Be positive in your reactions. Never show cowardness or fear. Show your OLQs. 10. THEMATIC APPERCEPTION TEST(TAT) It is a projective method of assessing personality of the candidates. It is, in fact, the simplest and the best method, whereby a person reveals his innate personality. The candidate is asked to make a response to some picture and situation. It is an indirect method of studying the personality of the candidates, which he would otherwise have not revealed. The candidate gives apperception of his own qualities, characteristics and traits of without being “self conscious”. It may be noted that this test is the backbone of the psychological tests. In TAT, there can be no single definite response. There can always be more than one responses while in “Intelligence Tests’, there is a set of answers i.e., single definite answer to each question. These responses to TAT depicts distinctive expression of one’s own personality. A candidate should be optimistic and his thoughts should be positive.
